ACI d.d. as the largest chain of marinas in the Mediterranean and a regional leader in nautical tourism, in 2022 it achieved a total of HRK 247.2 million in business revenue, which is a record and the highest recorded revenue since the company was founded. Thus, according to the unaudited report on the results of operations, the Company’s EBITDA in the past period reached a value of HRK 101 million, which is an increase of 21% compared to the previous year. Likewise, the previous business year for ACI was also characterized by additional significant investments in the marina system, within which a total of HRK 58.4 million was invested, which represents only one in a series of strategic steps achieved in the mentioned period.
Strategic investments are the key to the business success of the largest chain of marinas in the Mediterranean
ACI in 2022 records growth in all marinas of the system. Considering the plans and set business goals, sales revenues in 2022 amounted to HRK 238.7 million, which is HRK 33.1 million higher than the year before. In the previous year, the highest growth was recorded from the service of daily and annual connections, with a share of 75% in the total increase. The business unit with the most significant growth is ACI Marina Korčula, where in 2021 an investment of HRK 25 million was made in the reconstruction of the breakwater. Likewise, significant investments, of a total of HRK 58.4 million, in the previous year related to the partial reconstruction of ACI Marina Dubrovnik, as well as works on the adaptation of apartments in Rab and Milna marinas and the execution of numerous other infrastructure works. Consequently, the investments resulted in an increase in the income side of the Company. In the past period, TVRTKA recorded an increase in revenue by HRK 34.6 million, and the realized net profit was HRK 25.6 million.
Looking to the future: investments in infrastructure improvement and sustainable business
In 2023, ACI will continue to achieve its set goals, which primarily means continued investment in marinas, with a special emphasis on the construction of the future ACI Marina Rijeka. It is the largest investment in nautical tourism in the history of the Republic of Croatia, and the marina will be built by the joint company ACI-GITONE. In addition, by the end of 2023, the Company plans to adopt the Sustainable Development Strategy of ACI for the period from 2023 to 2027. It will contain Action Plans that will operationalize the Company’s strategic goals, which means improving the quality of services and new acquisitions. “This year, the 40th anniversary of ACI’s foundation, we expect a continuation of increased demand for our services and, regardless of the still challenging conditions caused by inflation, a continuation of stable operations,” said the President of the Management Board of ACI d.d. Kristijan Pavić. Ultimately, the company’s greatest focus remains on activities related to the extension of concession contracts, which mostly expire in 2030.
