EXHIBITION “CROATIA – WHERE SAILS TELL STORIES” HELD IN LJUBLJANA

The largest chain of marinas in the Mediterranean and a leader in nautical tourism, as the main sponsor, supported the exhibition, which aims to promote Croatian maritime heritage and Croatia’s current position in regional and world shipping.

 

On Monday, April 10, in the center of Ljubljana, an exhibition called “Croatia – where sails tell stories” was organized by the Association for the Promotion of Croatian Maritime Heritage Cronaves from Split and the Croatian Tourist Board of Ljubljana, with the aim of promoting this unique and rich heritage. Croatian. As the largest chain of marinas in the Mediterranean and the leader of nautical tourism in Croatia, ACI d.d. is the sponsor of this, in many ways, special exhibition, which will tell the story of Croatia’s centuries-old maritime tradition as one of the most prominent nautical countries in the world to the pedestrians of Ljubljana through a series of 22 photographs with motifs of ships, barges, seafaring and nautical. Thus, the official opening of the exhibition in Ljubljana, which was held on Wednesday, April 12, was complemented by the representatives of ACI, led by the Corporate Communications Manager, Adriana Mišković, who greeted the gathered on behalf of the largest chain of marinas in the Mediterranean with an appropriate address.

 

The world rests on young people – let’s educate future generations

The historical Croatian tradition of coexistence with the sea, seafaring and nautical is one of the key determinants of our national identity and the culture of the entire community. Therefore, the education of future generations about everything that is left to them as a legacy is not only desirable, but also necessary, and the active participation of ACI in manifestations of this character is a pledge of exactly that. Prof. Robert Mohović, also spoke about this.  who pointed out numerous projects and activities that have been carried out for years by various institutions and societies in order to preserve tradition and pass on the knowledge and skills of making traditional boats and the art of sailing to future generations. As a special success and value, he points out the fact that the good practices of the art of building and sailing traditional Kvarner boats and the art of sailing with Latin and main sails along the Croatian coast led to inclusion in the list of intangible heritage of the Republic of Croatia. The exhibition signed by Boško Lučev, Andrina Luić, Vislav Torre, Dubravka Pajk, Vojko Bašić, Gojko Vukov Colić, Sandra Rubinić, Marko Valjak and Kristijan Žic was officially opened by the authorized minister of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Hudek, who is also all greeted the gathered with a few appropriate words.

 

ACI as the main sponsor of the exhibition and the biggest ambassador of Croatian maritime heritage

The exhibition and the entire event were supported by numerous local and county tourist boards, while ACI, as the biggest ambassador of Croatian seafaring and nautical, acted as the main sponsor. On that occasion, the ACI community as a proud participant in the project was represented by the ACI’s Corporate Communications Manager, Adriana Mišković, who in her address particularly emphasized the fact that the establishment of ACI 40 years ago marked a historical turning point in Croatian boating, nautics and sailing as a sport.

“Thanks to the rich business portfolio, knowledge, skills and resources we have acquired as a leader in nautical tourism and as a bearer of digital transformation and transition to green energy, we will soon enrich our chain of 22 marinas by another link. It is about the future ACI marina Rijeka, which with investments of around 50 million euros will become the most luxurious and technologically most advanced marina in all of Europe and as such represents the largest investment in nautical tourism in the entire history of the Republic of Croatia. We hope that upon the opening of the new marina, we will also host Slovenian sailors, who make up a significant part of our annual berths, and events such as today’s additionally contribute to the importance and strengthening of this friendship and connection that we consider to be extremely valuable,” she said.
