GREEN SAIL ORGANIZATION PANEL WAS HELD IN ŠIBENIK

ACI marina Skradin manager, Mr. Slaven Bogut, participated in a panel dedicated to the dialogue on individual and group environmental responsibility and the practical challenges of implementing environmental and nautical policies, which also offered answers to the questions of the sustainable future of nautical tourism.

The non-profit organization Green Sail in Šibenik organized a panel dedicated to the promotion of sustainable practices in nautical tourism, in which the director of ACI Marina participated on behalf of ACI as a regional leader in nautical tourism, especially when it comes to green energy transition, environmental protection and sustainability Skradin, Slaven Bogut. It is a panel entitled “Can Croatia become a leading destination in the world for sustainable nautical tourism?”, and it brought together key industry representatives, scientists, ministry officials and many others. Some of the key topics covered by the panel discussion were waste management, the imbalance of capacity and sustainable management, the lack of control of the discharge of black waste water from vessels, harmful products for cleaning vessels and the future of hydrogen technology.

Implementing sustainability in all business segments is the key to the success of nautical tourism in the future

The panel at the Arsen House of Art in Šibenik was held with the support of the Šibenik Tourist Board, Master Yachting and long-time partners of the Green Sail organization. The panel “Can Croatia become a leading destination in the world for sustainable nautical tourism?” brought together experts from the nautical sector to jointly explore the possibilities of a sustainable future for one of the most vital branches of the national economy – nautical. Eight distinguished panelists participated in the panel discussion – Paško Klisović, president of the Croatian Association of Nautical Tourism at HGK, Frano Barbir, president of the Croatian Hydrogen Association, Saša Popovac, head of the Market Research and Analytics Department, HTZ, Neven Cukrov, scientific advisor at the Department for marine and environmental research Ruđer Bošković, Areti Priovolou, representative for health, safety and environment in D-marin marinas, Slaven Bogut, director of ACI marina Skradin, Renata Franc, senior scientific advisor at the Institute for Social Sciences Ivo Pilar and Zlatko Košta, representative Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure.

The panelists discussed the pressing issues of national nautical tourism, with special emphasis on Croatia’s path towards a sustainable future. The wide spectrum of knowledge and experience of all the present panelists contributed to the variety of opinions expressed. However, the central topic of the panel was waste management, including the black waste water system and the level of development of city sewers throughout the Adriatic coast. The panelists agreed that Croatia’s dependence on a resource whose future is uncertain – the natural environment – has a great impact on the question of the future.
On that occasion, the director of ACI Marina Skradin, Slaven Bogut, emphasized the importance of preserving the sea and the environment, as well as the future of national nautical tourism, which he considers above all to be sustainable and green. “The beauty and uniqueness of nature and the most modern technologies implemented in our marina in Skradin, which serve to preserve the sea and develop our business, are recognized not only by the profession and other stakeholders of our nautical sector, but also by the increasing number of sailors who continuously choose our marina . I believe that as a company we will continue to invest all our efforts in the improvement of nautical technologies, as well as in the implementation of sustainability in all segments of our business in all marinas of ACI’s nautical chain”, Mr. Bogut concluded .
