Improving the quality of services in marinas has brought ACI awards and recognitions

Days of Croatian tourism represent the largest gathering of tourism workers in Croatia. Through the multi-day Croatian Tourism Days program, the tourism year in the Republic of Croatia is traditionally marked, and through expert lectures, workshops, presentations and working meetings, tourism and economic achievements are summarized, current topics related to tourism are commented on, and tourism potentials for further development and more effective positioning of Croatian tourism are presented.
Part of the program is also the ceremonial awarding of annual tourism awards, with live television broadcasts. Awards are given to individuals, representatives of the tourism industry, and the best destinations and entities that have earned prestigious awards for their work and results. The annual Croatian tourism awards are a joint project of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Croatian Tourist Board and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, created with the aim of further encouraging competitiveness, innovation and awareness of sustainable development and raising the quality of services and products in the tourism sector.

ACI marina Dubrovnik – marina of the year

We are proud to point out that on the first evening of the award ceremony, three ACI marinas were nominated for awards – ACI marinas Rovinj, Split and Dubrovnik. ACI Marina Dubrovnik was declared the best in the category of medium-sized marinas, and our sailors Mihovil Šisejković and Dinko Damjanić are employees of the year for the heroic act of rescuing a three-member boat crew in a storm near Vrboska.
As part of the second evening of the award ceremony, ACI marina Dubrovnik was declared marina of the year. ACI marina Dubrovnik is the ideal starting point for a complete nautical adventure along the coast and colourful islands. It is also one of the more trophy-winning ACI marinas, multiple winners of the “Tourist flower – quality for Croatia” award, according to boaters’ ratings, multiple winners of the Jutarnji List Nautical Patrol awards (2018, 2nd place, 2019 in the “My Favorite Marina” category, 2020 for development of elite tourism, in 2021 in the category “Golden Link of Gastronomy”) and the proud bearer of the Blue Flag. With a swimming pool and sunbed rental, tennis courts, two top restaurants where live and ambient music is performed during the season, facilities for children, a shop, the possibility of renting electric scooters, bicycles and mopeds, massage services, the centuries-old summer house Sorkočević, top nautical services and a unique ACI Golf Range training ground – ACI marina Dubrovnik is a very important link in the tourist offer of the city of Dubrovnik. During this year and last year, the water supply and drainage, electrical network and installations and lighting were reconstructed in the marina, and a coastal wall was built, which provided more than 230 meters of new shoreline for entering and accepting four to five-meter-long vessels. The plan includes the construction of the largest service area in the southern Adriatic and the reconstruction of the beautiful centuries-old Sorkočević castle. The listed investments will turn the Dubrovnik marina into a real city in miniature, and Dubrovnik will be strongly marked, not only on the nautical map of the Mediterranean but also of the world.

ACI marina Rovinj – a symbol of excellence

The city of Rovinj was declared the tourism champion of the year. Its offer was certainly enriched by the ACI marina Rovinj, in whose reconstruction five years ago more than HRK 150 million was invested, and in the marina, which has been operating since 1984, only the dimensions remained unchanged, while everything else was built anew. Marina Rovinj has become one of the symbols of excellence, its appearance, arrangement, level of service quality and compliance with ecological standards have earned it the prestigious five anchors that only a few Croatian marinas can boast of.
The heroism of the sailors of the ACI marina Vrboska was awarded
The employees of the year in nautical tourism are the sailors of ACI marina Vrboska Mihovil Šišejković and Dinko Damjanić. They were recognized for their heroic act of rescuing a crew of three during a storm this summer near Vrboska.
