Zlatni rat: One of Europe’s most beautiful beaches

From the ACI marina Milna it is worth exploring some of the natural phenomena of the island.

Zlatni rat

On the south side of the island, in the municipality of Bol, lies one of the most popular Croatian tourist destinations, and probably the most popular beach on the Adriatic –  Zlatni Rat. Because of its uniqueness and beauty it has become a symbol of Croatian tourism. This cape, made of gravel brought by torrents from Vidova mount is, a unique phenomenon. Zlatni rat is one of the most beautiful beaches on the coast. The cape has the appearance of a “tongue” protruding into the sea (about 400 m), embraced by crystal clear water, and special in that it changes shape and position – depending on the wind. This is a beach definitely worth visiting if you find yourself on the island of Brač.

Bol was declared a Croatian tourism champion in 2009 and 2010, as well as the best resort in the category of resorts holding 5,000 to 10,000 beds in 2009 and 2010. Situated only 15 km from the international tourist and sports Brač Airport, on a scale of tourist developments in the Adriatic, Bol climbed to an enviable level. Bol offers guests a wide variety of sports facilities: tennis courts for holding a variety of top-class tennis events, a wide variety of water sports, surfing, scuba diving, cycling and hiking trails …

Vidova gora (forest)

Declared a significant landscape in 1973 Vidova gora stretches across almost two thousand acres of land, and belongs to three municipalities on the island: Bol, Nerežišći and Postire. It is the highest peak on the island of Brač and all the Adriatic islands. It is covered by a forest of indigenous Dalmatian black pine and is a unique ecosystem on the central Dalmatian islands of high landscape value.

Because of its considerable altitude and distance from the sea it has a colder climate than most of the Dalmatian islands. It has preserved its authentic look and unspoiled nature, enhanced also by the local population who still engage in cattle breeding the old way, giving a special charm to the idyllic feel of this unique, natural oasis of peace. From the top of Vidova gora there is a beautiful view of the tourist town of Bol and its famous beach Zlatni Rat.
