Big game fishing
Vodice offers a variety of opportunities for ultimate sports entertainment, including big game fishing. Two captains (Anton Roca and Zoran Srdarev-Mure) are stationed in Vodice’s port daily, offering visitors a unique adventure of catching tuna, amberjack, swordfish, sharks, little tunny, blue dolphin and other fish species.
Sail the Adriatic on the multiple award-winning big game fishing boat Bakul, owned by captain Anton Roca, and try your luck at catching sea monsters whose weight can reach up to several hundred pounds. Tuna fishing on the high seas is a particularly attractive discipline, which lasts 10 months a year. The trophy catch can be pulled onto the boat for a photography session upon guests’ request, and then distributed. Discover what Hemingway’s writing was about!
An extremely popular sport among the locals. Vodice, unlike the hilly Šibenik, mainly lies in the valley, so exploring the surrounding areas like Tribunj, Tisno, Srima or the hinterland is pleasant and relaxing. Around the city there are a number of bike trails, and the bravest ones can try mountain biking on Okit.
Vodice-Okit trail is only 5.8 kilometres long, but extremely demanding due to its steep climb. However, the viewpoint located at the top of the Okit shrine (133 m) offers a breathtaking view worth every effort. Explorers will enjoy paths Kozara-Sv.Ivan-Bunari and Arauzona-Sv. Ilija, while Orlov krug is the host to the annual Croatia and World Cup in mountain biking. Recreationists will prefer the flat trail Vodice-Prižba, which runs along the coast, walking paths and numerous beaches.
