The President of the ACI Management Board, Kristijan Pavić, participated in the working meeting of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the domestic tourism sector with the aim of further joint positioning of Croatia as the most attractive country in the Mediterranean
Nautics, as the leading tourism sector in Croatia, is recording excellent results this season as well and providing a vital contribution to the recovery of the entire national tourism. Moreover, thanks to its fundamental attributes, precisely nautical has proven to be a potential backbone of the branding of the Republic of Croatia as the most attractive and competitive destination in the Mediterranean. This was also one of the topics of the working meeting of the Government with the tourism sector, which was initiated by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković in Punta Skala in Petrčani, and in which the President of the Management Board, Kristijan Pavić, participated on behalf of ACI. The second such meeting in a row brought together the vice-presidents of the government, ministers, as well as the leading people of Croatian tourism and businessmen who, in addition to the tourism results so far, also discussed plans for the continuation of the season.
Tourism is recording a significant recovery, and the most intense part of the season is yet to come
Along with the Deputy Prime Ministers Davor Božinović, Oleg Butković and Anja Šimprag, there were ministers Ivan Paladina, Marija Vučković, Marin Piletić, Vili Beroš, Gordan Grlić Radman, Davor Filipović and Nina Obuljen Koržinek, as well as state secretaries Šime Erlić, Šime Mršić, Marija Pletikosa and Josip Bilaver. As a representative of the regional leader in nautical tourism, ACI, the President of the Management Board, Kristijan Pavić, attended the meeting. Those gathered discussed the current tourist season, in which, after very good results in the first six months of this year, July almost equaled the results from 2019. According to announcements, August should be the most intensive tourist month of the year, therefore part of the discussion is also focused on plans for the next period. “Tourism strengthens the fiscal capacity for various types of interventions during the fall, given the global energy and food crisis and inflationary pressures,” pointed out Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
Nautics as a carrier of progress
As it was shown during the pandemic, and it continues even in these somewhat calmer times, nautical is continuously recording better and better results and represents one of the leading sectors in overall tourism results at the country level. The president of the ACI Management Board, Kristijan Pavić, referred to this. “Apart from our natural beauty, which has always attracted numerous sailors from all over the world, the stabilization of the epidemiological situation plays a major role in the recovery. However, one of the main causes of the positive trend and ever-improving results is certainly the constant investment in the excellence of the entire offer, from the modernity and quality of the infrastructure to the wide spectrum of services. In this regard, our country has an exceptional advantage because, in addition to the largest chain of marinas in the Mediterranean, we also have a rich sailing heritage, as well as all the technical conditions to be the absolute number one in this field. There is no doubt that we have taken the right course in positioning our country as a global nautical superpower. With all of the above, the strategic direction and support of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the relevant Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, we have all the prerequisites, not only for a successful season, but also for a successful future”, said the President of the ACI Board, Kristijan Pavić.
