The youngest guardians of tradition performed traditional Dubrovnik dances – linđo and kontra dance, dressed in folk costumes and accompanied by songs and recitations.
The national nautical chain is a long-standing partner of the local communities in which it operates, with a particular focus on supporting the development of children and youth. A recent event at ACI Marina Dubrovnik hosted the children from “Mala Kuća” kindergarten, who performed traditional dances from the southern part of Croatia – linđo and kontra dance. Besides the children, parents, and the local community, the event was attended by Maja Cigić, the principal of “Mala Kuća” kindergarten, and Leo Ajduković, the director of ACI Marina Dubrovnik and regional director of the Dubrovnik region. The performance confirmed why the marina is a symbol of nautical tradition, cultural heritage, and art, providing a unique opportunity for everyone present to support the youngest generation in preserving and promoting cultural heritage together.
The children’s performance in the courtyard of Sorkočević Castle brought smiles to the faces of all attendees.
ACI Marina Dubrovnik stands out as one of the most prestigious locations in the national nautical chain and a top port in the Mediterranean, which is not surprising given the significance of the city of Dubrovnik for Croatian tourism. A special event that revived the rich history of the city was certainly the performance by the children from “Mala Kuća” kindergarten, who performed traditional Dubrovnik dances in folk costumes. This event provided a unique opportunity to support the youngest generation in promoting and preserving the valuable cultural heritage of Dubrovnik.
“We are delighted to have had the opportunity to host the children from ‘Mala Kuća’ kindergarten at our ACI Marina Dubrovnik. Their performance of traditional Dubrovnik dances in the courtyard of Sorkočević Castle brought laughter and joy to the marina, and their smiling faces delighted everyone present. The event is just one of the ways we diversify our offerings, connecting the rich history and tradition on one side with the present and future on the other. We look forward to all future opportunities where we will host various events and performances,” said Leo Ajduković, director of ACI Marina Dubrovnik.
