The largest marina chain in the Mediterranean took part in a key meeting of tourism stakeholders with the minister Tonči Glavina ahead of yet another challenging season
A pre-season meeting for the upcoming summer period was held in the conference hall of Hotel Olea in Novalja. The meeting was convened by Tonči Glavina, Tourism and Sport Minister, with the aim of further strengthening the coordination among all stakeholders ahead of the peak season. It brought together representatives of the tourism sector and relevant institutions. ACI was represented by Ankica Kruljac, MSc, President of the Management Board, and Ivan Herak, PhD, Board member.
Guest safety and system readiness – a priority for this tourist season
The meeting was preceded by the awarding of contracts to co-fund additional medical teams in seven coastal counties during the summer months, as well as activities of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service and the Safe Tourist Destination project, stressing the importance of safety and system readiness during the most intensive part of the tourist season.
The focus of the meeting was on strengthening coordination among all the stakeholders in the tourism system, further enhancing safety and healthcare capacities during the peak season, and ensuring a high standard of service. The minister particularly emphasised the importance of timely preparation in the changing global circumstances affecting tourism trends, as well as the need for a flexible approach and the ability to respond quickly to guests’ needs.
Boating sector enters the new season with cautious optimism
“ACI began preparing for the 2026 season at the end of last year, as soon as the previous season ended, in order to ensure the highest standards of service and safety in all our marinas. The boating season is longer that the usual tourist season, and our guests expect a reliable and high-quality experience throughout the period. At this moment, it is still too early for precise forecast; however, it is clear that travel decisions are being made in shorter timeframes. Croatia has a competitive edge in this respect – it is a safe and easily accessible destination, which is gaining even greater importance in the current circumstances”, said Ankica Kruljac, Msc, President of ACI’s Management Board, at the end of the meeting.
In conclusion, participants at the meeting of the stakeholders in Croatian tourism stressed that the success of the forthcoming tourist season will largely depend on timely preparation, effective management and continued cooperation among all stakeholders. In ever-increasing global challenges, the adaptability of the system and the ability to ensure a safe, high-quality and sustainable tourist experience at the level of the destination will be key.
