The Golden Anchor Awards ceremony of 2019 was held as a part of the conference “The Future of Nautical Tourism in Croatia” in Rovinj.
As many as six marinas of the Adriatic Croatia International Club (ACI), the largest system of marinas in the Mediterranean, have won prestigious rewards and awards that confirm the quality of the services in nautical tourism.
The prestigious title of Marina No.1 went to the newly opened ACI marina Rovinj. The award was conferred to the CEO of ACI, Kristijan Pavić, by the Minister of Tourism Gari Cappelli.
A special award for the greatest progress in nautical season 2019 was conferred to ACI marina Jezera, whereas the award “Adriatic Golden Smile” went to – ACI marina Pula. Furthermore, ACI marina Cres was awarded second place, whereas the third place went to ACI marina Skradin. According to the votes of Croatian guests who evaluated the overall quality of services, ACI marina Dubrovnik received a special reward – “My favourite marina”.
In addition to awarding of prizes to the best marinas, the conference also presented the potentials of the nautical tourism, defined development guidelines, as well as challenges and key prerequisites for development such as the extension of concessions and amendments to the Law on Maritime Property and Seaports.
The deserved title of the most successful ones
As the leading Croatian nautical company with 36 years of tradition, ACI is the leader in the development of the nautical tourism in Croatia and manages 22 marinas with more than 5.800 berths. ACI marinas are on the very top of the list of boaters from all over the world, and with a clear view of the direction of development, they develop their offer on a daily basis. “Today’s awards and rewards are the recognitions to all employees and Board members of ACI, who for the last three years have been investing intensive efforts and resources in the development of nautical tourism in Croatia, improving the quality of the marinas themselves, as well as of the entire related facilities. We believe that these awards will serve as a motivation and stimulation for further enrichment of the nautical offer, which certainly contributes to the quality of the nautical, as well as of the Croatian tourist offer as a whole”, said during the awards ceremony the CEO of ACI Kristijan Pavić.

The conference “The Future of Nautical Tourism in Croatia” presented all the potentials of nautical tourism and its positive effects on the economy, defined development guidelines and potential obstacles to development, and proposed concrete measures that will give nautical tourism an appropriate framework for its sustainable development, in order to position Croatia in the future as one of the world leaders in this important segment of the tourism industry.
