THE 17TH MEMORIAL REGATTA OF CAPTAIN MARKO MARINOVIĆ WAS HELD

We remember a dear friend and director of the ACI marina Pomer one of the most important regattas in the Istrian County

On October 2, 2021, the Memorial Regatta of Captain Marko Marinović was held, one of the most important regattas in the County of Istria and a traditional regatta for the cruiser class OPEN. With this important regatta, we keep the memory of a dear friend, a passionate sailor and one of the founders of the sailing association of the Istrian County. In order to pay tribute to Captain Marko Marinović, ACI marina Pomer provides a berth for all sailors from Friday to Sunday for this regatta every year. This year, 29 boats successfully started in the regatta, and the fastest was the boat Bravissima under the skipper and at the same time the youngest participant in the regatta, Ivano Kaić, whom we congratulate from the bottom of our hearts.

The Marinović Memorial is a regatta that has been held since 2004, and this year the Delfin sailing club organized it with the support of the Sports Association of the City of Pula and under the auspices of the ACI marina Pomer. Volunteers and club members, as well as numerous donors, also helped. Numerous sailors from Croatia took part in the regatta, so there were skippers from Zagreb, Trogir, Zadar, Krk, Trget, Vrsar, Poreč, Rovinj, Fažana and mostly from Pula, where this year’s winner Ivano Kaić, a member of the sailing club Uljanik, comes from. In addition to local participants, the regatta was enriched by skippers from Germany, Slovenia and South Africa. Participants were not only nationally diverse. Moreover, there were female skippers, experienced sailors, but also new enthusiasts and even children.

Together with the Delfin Sailing Club, we thank all the participants who help preserve the memory of Captain Marinović, who is remembered as a good man, husband and father, but also as a passionate sailor who was an example to others with his enthusiasm.
