IN MARCH WE CELEBRATE A SPECIAL DAY FOR THE WHOLE COMMUNITY: INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

To all female members of the nautical community, as well as to all the special women in our lives ACI d.d. from the bottom of the heart wishes a Happy Women’s Day

Every year on March 8, we mark and celebrate one of the most important international days, which forms the very foundations of modern society and civilization – International Women’s Day. On this occasion, we not only give special women in our lives the attention they actually deserve every day, but we celebrate equality and outstanding economic, political, scientific, social, sports and many other achievements of the female sex. The nautical community, as one of the most diverse collectives, has a lot to look forward to on this day, because the key components of any successful crew today are women. ACI d.d. he was convinced of this countless times and with great pleasure continues to follow the growing presence of female crew members, both in sports regattas and in nautical tourism. ACI, therefore, congratulates all women from the bottom of their hearts on behalf of all employees, partners and the Board.

An indispensable part of the world’s most competitive competitions…

Sailors used to be one of the most superstitious groups, so one could hear all sorts of myths and legends on decks all over the world’s seas and oceans. One of the most popular was that women onboard carry bad luck. The most elite regattas in the world today, especially those organized by Nautor’s Swan, the manufacturer of the world’s most luxurious sailboats, show how much they were deceived. Given that ACI through the nautical excellence project ACI Sail has an exclusive partnership with this prestigious company, our team is together with our clients, but also clients present at many such competitions across Europe. Moreover, we had the opportunity to host one of these in our beautiful Rovinj in September 2021.

… But also winning crews.

The first ClubSwan regatta ever held in Croatia will be remembered as special in many ways, but the most special was the participation of great sailors, who proved side by side with their male colleagues that they know and can sail at the highest possible level. Moreover, one of the contestants was in the winning crew, and it is the German Nora Albersmann, who brought back wonderful memories from Rovinj. “I can say that as a whole crew we sailed the regatta great. This was our first visit to Croatia and it ended like a beautiful dream. ClubSwan 36 is fun to sail, and Rovinj is a real gem. We were greeted by a top marina, a magical city and a great organization. I am returning to Germany full of impressions “, said Nora Albersmann at the time.
Apart from Nora, Turkey’s Nevra Eker was the only skipper at the ClubSwan 36 ACI Cup in Rovinj and immediately reached the podium and bronze medal. “My impressions of Croatia are great. We had demanding sailing conditions as a light wind tests your patience and knowledge. ACI Marina in Rovinj provided us with warm hospitality, and I was especially impressed by sailing under the views of the old town. I will definitely return to Croatia to sail because it is a first-class destination “, Nevra Eker points out with satisfaction.

See you in Split!

This year, in Split, ACI will host the regatta of the European Championship in One Design class for the first time in Croatia from October 4 to 8, and it is the ClubSwan 36 European Championship, which is an integral part of the ClubSwan racing regatta league, organized by Nautor’s Swan. To make this whole story even more special, Croatia will host the last regatta of the competition and thus crown the Swan Design One regatta season and join prestigious European locations such as Scarlino, Villasimius, Valencia, Palma de Mallorca and Porto Cervo. Of course, we are extremely looking forward to seeing as many competitors as possible and we believe that they will again achieve great results to the pride of the entire nautical community.
