On the occasion of marking the Day of the City of Pula, from 4 to 9 May, ACI participated in an additional promotion not only of Pula but also of nautical tourism, which attracts more and more visitors to the Croatian coast every year. Pula Sailing Week is organized by the sailing club Uljanik, and as one of the sponsors of Pula Sailing Week, ACI hosted three sailing classes in Pula, a revival regatta for the youngest, more than 50 regatta and family cruisers and the largest ships in the North Adriatic MAXI cruisers. The week was marked by a gala dinner on the occasion of the opening of the Grand Hotel Brioni, and in the company and gastronomic delicacies of eight top chefs with Michelin stars enjoyed ACI Ambassador Ivica Kostelic and trophy sailor Mauro Pelaschiera.
Impressive sailing set in ACI marina Pula
“ACI, as the largest chain of marinas in the Mediterranean and the owner of six elite sea racing boats – ClubSwan 36 sailboats available for charter, was a logical choice as a partner in this project. Already during the last pandemic year, Pula Sailing Week managed to gather a significant number of participants, and this year this importance has grown exponentially, both in the local community and outside the borders of Lijepa Naša. Thanks to the favourable climate, winds and natural resources, the Pula area is a perfect sailing range, which is recognized this year, and we are pleased to see the participation of our youngest sailors, “said ACI Corporate Communications Manager Adriana Mišković. The sports-competition program attracted three sailing classes to the port of Pula, including a revival regatta for the youngest Optimist classes, more than 50 regatta and family cruisers from Croatia, Slovenia, Italy and Austria and the largest ships in the North Adriatic – MAXI cruisers such as Portopiccolo Prosecco Doc and Cleansport.
Culinary treat on the occasion of the opening of the cult hotel
The entire Pula Sailing Week was dedicated to the promotion of tourism and nautical, which further emphasized the opening of the famous Grand Hotel Brioni. On the occasion of the long-awaited opening, the MAXI ON COOKING CHALLENGE SHOW was held, during which as many as eight chefs who underlined their gastronomic achievements and careers and Michelin stars had the opportunity to show their skills. The proud ambassador of the ACI sailing family Ivica Kostelic, the mayor of Pula Filip Zoricic, the member of the board of Arena Hospitality Group Manuela Kraljevic, the ambassador of Italy to Croatia Pierfrancesco Sacco, the director of the Istrian Tourist Board Denis Ivosevic, journalist Lana Pavic and others enjoyed this unique evening and their creations. This year’s Pula Sailing Week attracted many visitors and further emphasized the importance of ACI marinas, not only for the continuous development of the Croatian coast but also for the flourishing of nautical tourism during the season and in the pre-season. As a sponsor of Pula Sailing Week, ACI has once again strengthened the position of Croatia and Istria as nautical superpowers.
