On the occasion of the 39th anniversary of business, the management of ACI thanked all employees for their efforts and cooperation and wished them a pleasant and successful new season.
On this day in 1983, the largest chain of marinas in the Mediterranean, ACI d.d., was founded, thanks to which Croatia today proudly holds the status of one of the world’s largest superpowers when it comes to nautical tourism. Thus, in all ACI marinas across the Adriatic, ACI Day was celebrated today, i.e. the 39th anniversary of its activity, where the company’s management held an appropriate meeting with employees in ACI marina Opatija. Although the big 40th anniversary will be celebrated only next year, ACI is celebrating this year’s anniversary with special satisfaction because in the past two years it has assumed the role of a regional leader in the protection of employees and guests and, thanks to numerous strategic investments, has welcomed the first post-pandemic season with significant infrastructure improvements and business expansion portfolio.
A leader in the protection of the entire community and the bearer of the development of nautical tourism
In the previous two years, sailing proved to be the most resilient and competitive form of tourism, thanks to the results of which the entire tourism sector not only survived but also readily met today’s circumstances without international measures and restrictions. One of the main roles was played by ACI d.d. which in all its marinas from north to south has ensured the highest standards of health protection for all its guests and employees and all the necessary conditions for a pleasant and safe stay in Croatia. At the same time, the largest chain of marinas in the Mediterranean also took into account the future of nautical tourism in the Republic of Croatia, so in the past period, numerous strategic investments in the excellence of infrastructure and services and the expansion of the business portfolio were realized. Moreover, in the last year alone, ACI has invested a total of HRK 44 million in its marinas throughout Croatia – from the initial project of establishing ACI Marina Rijeka in the nautical tourism port of Porto Baroš, to the complete reconstruction of ACI Marinas Dubrovnik and Korčula.
More precisely, ACI has obtained a 30-year concession for the development of the future ACI Marina Rijeka, whereby in cooperation with the company GITONE Kvarner, part of the well-known Lurssen group, they will invest more than HRK 363 million, which will also be the largest investment in nautical tourism in the history of Croatia. On the other hand, in the last five years, a total of HRK 95 million has been invested in ACI marinas in the area of Dubrovnik-Neretva County, during which a comprehensive reconstruction of ACI Marina Dubrovnik worth over HRK 35 million was carried out, as well as major reconstruction of ACI Marina Korčula in which about HRK 25 million was invested last year.
Great atmosphere in marinas across the country and great optimism for the coming period
President of the Management Board Kristijan Pavić and members of the Management Board mag oec. Josip Ostrogović and Ph.D. Ivan Herak in the company of the director of ACI marina Opatija Ivica Škec, and ACI employees in ACI marina Opatija presented special awards to ACI’s long-term sailors. Dušan Letis, an employee of ACI marina Opatija, also received an award for his thirty years of service. The members of the Board pointed out that the entire tourism sector found itself in previously unimaginable circumstances during the previous two years, but ACI took a firm initiative and assumed the responsibility of the regional leader in protecting the entire nautical community. In addition to the ever-present optimism and faith in the return to the old normal, numerous strategic investments in the excellence of infrastructure and services and the expansion of the business portfolio were realized in this period, and all major milestones in business were achieved thanks to the support, contribution and cooperation of all ACI employees. . “With the team that we are gathering and the knowledge and experience that we possess, we have no doubt in the slightest about the successful implementation of all the projects that we have planned, and on the basis of which we will further strengthen Croatia’s position at the very top of the world’s nautical industry. Therefore, I heartily congratulate all our colleagues on ACI Day and wish them a pleasant and successful season, full of personal and professional fulfilment”, concluded Kristijan Pavić, president of the ACI Management Board, on behalf of the ACI Management Board.
