1. Booking and confirmation

When is my online booking confirmed?

A booking is confirmed only once you have received an electronic booking confirmation containing the booking reference number. Payment authorisation or authorisation hold shown in the banking app does not mean that the booking has been successfully confirmed.

What if I see a debit entry or authorisation hold, but I have not received the booking confirmation?

If you have not received a booking confirmation containing the booking reference number, the booking is not considered confirmed. The authorisation hold will be released in accordance with the rules of your bank or card issuer. If you are unsure whether the booking has been made, contact ACI or the selected marina before arrival.

What if I have not received the booking confirmation email?

First check your spam, promotional folders and make sure you have entered the correct email address. If you still cannot find the confirmation, contact ACI or the marina and provide your first name and surname, the email used for the booking, the selected marina, the arrival date and vessel details.

Can I book a berth without paying?

No. When booking a daily berth online, payment must be made during the booking process, in accordance with the applicable Price List for the selected marina, date and vessel characteristics.

Which currency is used for payment?

Payment is made in euros. Any charges imposed by the bank or card company, exchange rate differences or other payment processing fees are determined by your bank or card issuer and will be borne by the user.

Should I send my payment card details by email or phone?

No. Payment card details must be entered exclusively via the secure online payment system. Do not send your payment card number, card security code or other sensitive card details by email, text or phone.

2. Arrival at the marina

Until what time is the booked berth held?

The booked berth is held until 8.00 p.m. on the arrival date specified in the booking, unless expressly agreed otherwise with the marina in writing, including by email.

By what time must I complete check-in at the marina?

Check-in at the marina reception must be completed no later than 8.00 p.m. on the arrival date specified in the booking. If you expect to arrive after 8.00 p.m., you must notify the marina as soon as possible and obtain confirmation that the booked berth will be held after that time.

What if I am delayed and arrive after 8.00 p.m.?

If you expect to be delayed, make sure to contact the marina as soon as possible and notify the staff of your arrival. If you do not arrive by 8.00 p.m., do not notify the marina and there is no other written arrangement, the booking may be treated as a no-show and the berth may be released for other users.

Do I need to contact the marina before arrival?

Yes. No later than 30 minutes before entering the marina, the user is required to contact the marina where the berth has been booked, either by telephone or on VHF Channel 17, notify the staff of the arrival and request instructions and permission to enter.

Can I arrive earlier than planned?

If you would like to arrive earlier, contact the marina before arrival. The possibility of earlier berthing is subject to availability, safety conditions and the operational organisation of the marina. Earlier or additional stay may be charged in accordance with the applicable Price List.

Who determines the exact berth location?

The exact berth location is determined by the marina staff, subject to availability, safety, vessel dimensions and operational conditions in the marina.

How long can I stay at the berth?

The booking is valid for the day or period for which payment has been made. The daily berth booking expires at the start of the next chargeable day, in accordance with ACI’s applicable Price List.

3. Changes to a booking

Can I change the booking date?

The booking date cannot be easily changed by means of a modification to an existing booking confirmation. In exceptional cases and subject to availability, ACI may approve the use of the already-paid service on another date. A request must be submitted in writing no later than 2.00 p.m. on the day before arrival.

By when can the approved booking be used on another date?

If ACI approves the use of the paid service on another date, the booking may be used no later than the end of the current calendar year, in accordance with internal procedures and subject to availability at the marina.

Can I change the selected marina in the same booking?

The marina cannot be changed by means of a modification to an existing online booking. If you would like a berth in another ACI marina, you must make a new booking for the marina of your choice, subject to availability.

What if I have booked the wrong marina?

If you have booked the wrong marina, you are entitled to a full refund of the amount paid if you cancel the booking within one hour of making it or if you make a new booking for a berth in another marina of your choice for the same day, in accordance with the General Terms and Conditions.

Can I extend my stay?

An extension of your stay is possible only if the marina has sufficient capacity. The additional period of berth use is charged in accordance with the marina’s applicable Price List.

4. Booking cancellations and refunds

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in writing, by sending an email to the marina where the berth has been booked or to aci@aci-club.hr. Your request must include the booking reference number, the user’s details, the reason for cancellation and, where applicable, the relevant supporting documentation.

What refund do I receive if I cancel on time?

If you cancel your booking no later than 2.00 p.m. on the day before arrival, you will be refunded 80% of the amount paid, while ACI will retain 20% of the amount as a cancellation fee.

What if I cancel after 2.00 p.m. on the day before arrival?

If the booking cancellation request is received after 2.00 p.m. on the day before arrival, the user is normally not entitled to a refund of the amount paid.

What if I cancel my booking immediately after making it?

If you cancel your booking within one hour of making it, you are entitled to a full refund of the amount paid, provided that you have not yet started using the berth.

What if I have accidentally made the same booking twice?

If two or more bookings are made for the same period, the same marina and the same vessel, you can ask for a full refund of the amount paid for the duplicate booking. The request should be submitted in writing and will be reviewed before the refund is granted.

What if I do not arrive at the marina?

If you do not arrive at the marina by 8.00 p.m. on the arrival date, and have neither cancelled the booking within the prescribed time limits nor agreed otherwise with ACI in writing, the booking will be treated as a no-show and no refund will normally be issued.

Am I entitled to a refund due to adverse weather conditions?

The user is responsible for assessing weather conditions and determining whether arrival at the marina is possible. If the booking is not cancelled within the prescribed time limits, adverse weather conditions do not entitle the user to a refund.

What if I cannot come due to vessel malfunction, illness or another problem?

Vessel malfunction, technical defects affecting the vessel, illness or any other circumstances relating to the user do not entitle the user to an automatic refund if the booking has not been cancelled within the prescribed time limits. Such request may be considered on an individual basis; however, a refund is not guaranteed.

How can I cancel a multi-day booking?

In cases of multi-day bookings, each day is considered separately. A refund for one individual day is possible only if the request for the cancellation of that day is received within the time limit prescribed for the day in question. There is no refund for days that have already begun, have been used or for which the cancellation period has expired.

Can I still arrive at the marina after cancellation and use the same booking?

A cancelled booking cannot be reactivated. If you nevertheless arrive at the marina after cancelling the booking, the possibility of berthing your vessel will depend on availability and your stay will be charged in accordance with the applicable Price List, payable directly at the marina.

What are the refund time limits?

Refunds are made using the same payment method used for the booking and, normally, to the user’s payment card used when making the booking. The refund is processed within 30 days of approval of the request and receipt of all required information and supporting documentation. The date on which the refund is credited to the user’s account also depends on the bank or card company.

Can I get a refund on another card or account?

Normally, refund is made to the same payment card used when making the booking. Refunds to another payment method are only possible in exceptional cases, provided that it is technically feasible and permitted under ACI’s internal procedures.

Do I have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days, as with other online purchases?

No. As the daily berthing service is provided for a specific date, that is, period, the general rule to withdraw from the contract within 14 days does not apply. Cancellation of the booking is governed by the cancellation and refund rules for online daily berth bookings.

5. Vessel, vessel dimensions and another vessel

What if I arrive with a vessel that is larger than the one specified in the booking?

If the vessel is larger than the one specified in the booking or falls within a higher price category, ACI will charge the difference in price according to the actual dimensions of the vessel and the applicable Price List.

What if my vessel is smaller than the one specified in the booking?

If the vessel is smaller than the one specified in the booking, the user does not have an automatic right to a refund of the price difference. Certain berths may be intended for vessels of a specific minimum length or price category. A refund of the price difference may be approved only exceptionally, if ACI establishes that there has been no misuse and that the conditions set out in General Terms and Conditions have been met.

Why is the refund for a smaller vessel not automatically granted?

Online bookings reserve marina capacity based on the information entered by the user. If dimensions larger than the actual ones are entered, berths intended for larger vessels can be booked, affecting the berth availability. That is why minor technical deviations may be tolerated; however, they do not grant an automatic right to a refund.

What if I arrive with a different vessel?

If you arrive with a different vessel, the marina may link the booking to the correct vessel details only if it is able to accommodate such vessel at a berth. If the other vessel falls within a higher price category, the difference in price will be charged. If the other vessel falls within a lower price category, the refund will not be granted automatically.

What if I have entered incorrect dimensions for the vessel?

The user is responsible for entering accurate and complete information about the vessel. If you notice a mistake, contact the marina or ACI as soon as possible. A subsequent request for a refund submitted after the invoice has been issued or after the service has been used does not entitle the user to a refund.

6. Invoices, ACI Card, vouchers and benefits

Can my invoice be issued to a company or a sole trader?

A request for the invoice to be issued to a legal entity, sole trader or another individual must be submitted before the invoice is issued, together with the complete and accurate information required for issuing the invoice. ACI may accept such a request only if issuing the invoice to the specified person is permitted under applicable regulations and ACI’s internal procedures.

Can I change the information on the invoice after it has been issued?

Once the invoice has been issued, the customer or invoice recipient cannot be changed, except through the prescribed invoice correction procedure where there are valid grounds for doing so.

How can ACI Card benefits, vouchers or complimentary ACI Days be used?

ACI Card benefits, vouchers, complimentary ACI Days and other promotional offers apply only if they are valid, their application is technically supported by the online system, and they are properly indicated and correctly entered before payment or, at the latest, before the invoice is issued.

Can I use a voucher or claim an ACI Card benefit after payment?

If the online booking has already been paid, submitting a voucher or claiming complimentary ACI Days or an ACI Card benefit after payment does not give the user an automatic right to a refund of the price difference. Request may be considered only if ACI establishes that all conditions governing the use of the benefit have been met and that the benefit has not previously been used.

7. When ACI is unable to provide the service

What if ACI cannot provide the booked berth?

If, for any reason, ACI is unable to provide the booked service, for instance due to overbooking, force majeure or extraordinary operational or safety-related circumstances, the user will be notified via the contact details provided in the booking.

Am I entitled to a refund if ACI is unable to provide the service?

Yes. If ACI is unable to provide the contracted service, the user is entitled to a full refund of the amount paid. The refund will be processed as soon as possible and no later than within 30 days.

Can I claim additional damages?

Normally, the user is not entitled to compensation for any other loss, loss of profit or indirect loss, unless otherwise required by mandatory legal provisions.

8. Assistance, complaints and data protection

Who can I contact for assistance with my booking?

For questions about arrival, entering the marina, the allocation of berths and specific technical details, please contact the marina where you have booked a berth. For general enquiries and requests, you can also send an email to aci@aci-club.hr.

How can I lodge a complaint?

You can lodge a complaint using the form available at the marina reception, by email to aci@aci-club.hr or by post to ACI d.d., Rudolfa Strohala 2, 51000 Rijeka. ACI will respond to a written complaint within 15 days of receipt.

How does ACI process my personal data?

ACI processes personal data necessary for booking or payment processing, communication, issuing invoices, processing refunds and complying with legal obligations. Further information is available in ACI d.d.’s General Personal Data Protection Policy published on the ACI website.
