We leave a legacy, untouched nature and a culture of responsibility to our future generations
Last weekend, a large action of cleaning the ACI marina Split was held, which continued the series of activities that ACI d.d. carried out as part of its mission to preserve the purity of the sea and the coast. In this, in many ways special cleaning action, we joined forces with volunteers of the Student Association of the University Department of Marine Studies “Oceanus” and students of the Academy of Arts in Split. The sea and submarine of the ACI marina in Split are relieved of significant amounts of waste, which will be recycled by Art Academy students and then created into works of art, to leave a symbolic reminder to future generations of the importance of caring for the sea and the environment. The action of cleaning the ACI marina Split is another in a series of activities that, in accordance with its values, ACI carries out in cooperation with local institutions, all in order to further improve the cleanliness of the Adriatic seabed and raise awareness of responsible management of the Adriatic Sea and coast.
We keep the treasure we have
Every year, the whole world increasingly recognizes Croatia as a unique pearl of untouched nature and one of the few European countries whose green resources are not defiled by the modern way of life. Clean air, unpolluted drinking water, crystal clear sea and lush forests full of life, are what sets Croatia apart from the rest and what makes it such an irresistible tourist destination. As the largest chain of marinas in the Mediterranean, we are well aware of our responsibility and duty to preserve our sea and coast for future generations as it is – clean and intact. Dedicated to this value, we regularly carry out major clean-up actions of our marinas along the coast, and the success, thoroughness and passion of these actions are confirmed by the internationally recognized Blue Flags that have flown over more than 20 ACI marinas on the Adriatic for decades. This weekend, it was the turn of the dear ACI marina Split, where diligent divers from the Oceanus Association and the clubs PIK Mornar, REK Hvidr, ERK Periska Ploče and Šrek Delta were responsible for cleaning the seabed.
Nothing is done “against one’s will” in Split
The chanted city under the golden sun is known for its cordiality in almost all respects, and caring for the sea is by no means an exception. Thus, the action of cleaning the ACI marina Split, despite the rain, was very successful and significant amounts of waste were removed – which is very important for the entire ecosystem of the Adriatic Sea. Finally, Split is one of the most nautical destinations on the Adriatic, which is why it is necessary to continuously invest additional efforts in environmental protection. “Such actions are important because they raise awareness of the need to preserve the environment. ACI is very pleased to support all efforts that contribute to the development of awareness of guests and locals about sustainable development and the reduction and cessation of environmental pollution. Our employees throughout the coast are extremely committed to maintaining the cleanliness of our sea and submarine, and this is especially true for the ACI marina Split as one of the busiest marinas on the Adriatic. We are truly blessed with natural resources like few countries in the world, so it is our primary duty to leave this wealth clean and unpolluted to future generations, “said the director of ACI Marina Split, Edo Karuza.
