Island Pag Trail is a unique race whose route passes through the most beautiful parts of the island of Pag, where runners are particularly struck by the view of the ACI marina Šimuni
More than 300 runners from the country and the world will have three exciting and interesting routes available on April 30, depending on the possibilities, the shape of the runners and the desire for adrenaline and fun. Although each of them is picturesque and special in its own way, the longest race route of 24 km is still the most attractive. Running on this trail that starts and ends in Kolan, competitors will have the opportunity to climb to Sv. Vida and enjoy the view of Velebit and neighbouring islands. Then they will enjoy the descent to the town of Šimuni and the ACI marina there, one of the special pearls in the ACI chain that stands out for its beautiful and impeccably clean nature.
An active weekend for the perfect end of April
Active life and recreation, the excitement that sport brings with it, the competitive spirit and staying in nature are the perfect recipes for a spring weekend that awakens all the senses. Those interested will be able to experience all of the above on April 30 on the island of Pag, where the Island Pag Trail race will take place. This in many ways special Pag race will offer runners three tracks with a total length of 37 kilometres and a handful of enchanting landscapes, most notably the view from the top of Sv. Vision. After climbing this peak, the route leads to Šimuni and ACI marina and continues to Mandri, and then to Girenica bay from where you run through Kolanjsko polje, Kolanjsko blato ornithological reserve and Rogoza beach returning to the destination – Kolan.
ACI marina Šimuni is halfway to the finish
One of the most prominent points of this race is the one next to the ACI marina Šimuni. Apart from being one of the most attractive marinas on the Adriatic, it is also one of the cleanest. This is confirmed by the blue flags that fly there, as well as in other ACI marinas throughout the Adriatic. It is a symbol of exceptional cleanliness of the environment and responsible management of the sea and the coastal area. Everyone interested in the Island Pag Trail will be able to enjoy the untouched nature of the rocks paired with the sea, which makes this part of the Adriatic special and different from the neighbouring northern islands. Thanks to large underwater cleaning actions, ACI marina Šimuni, as well as the rest of the island of Pag is adorned with pearly blue sea, whose scent at the end of April mixes with freshly blossomed sage and together with the sun gives more reason to participate in this race.
In addition to great love and commitment to the sea and clean environment, an important mission of ACI is to support the local community and promote sports, healthy and active lifestyles, which is reflected in this race, as well as other actions and events that take place at locations ACI marina throughout the Adriatic.
