ACI CEO AT THE CONFERENCE OF NOVI LIST “POTENTIALS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF LUXURY TOURISM IN KVARNER”

“None of our marinas has ever been and will never be closed to the public. On the contrary, the idea is for ACI marina Rijeka to become the fabric of the city “, said the director of ACI, Kristijan Pavić

The relevance of the topic of luxury tourism in the Republic of Croatia this November was greatly contributed by the large conference of Novi list entitled “Potentials for the development of luxury tourism in Kvarner”. On this occasion, leading experts from the domestic tourism industry gathered at the Ambasador Hotel in Opatija to discuss key opportunities, preconditions and promising practices for the development of luxury tourism in Kvarner. Among them was the director of ACI, Kristijan Pavić, who sent an important message towards the realization of the largest nautical project in the history of the Republic of Croatia – the construction of the ACI marina Rijeka in the port of Porto Baroš.

Extensions of concessions are the main precondition for the continuation of strategic investments

As part of the panel on opportunities and challenges for the development of luxury destinations, Mr Pavić emphasized the need to extend concessions to marinas as a basis for further investment. He stated that, instead of the HRK 207 million stipulated in the contract, ACI has so far invested more than HRK 750 million in increasing the quality of infrastructure and services in marinas. A key investment is yet to come. This is the realization of the ACI Marina Rijeka project, the largest nautical venture in the history of the Republic of Croatia, which ACI is implementing in partnership with the Lürssen Group. The director of ACI emphasized the message that is important for the entire local community, as well as all future visitors to the marina. He states that “no ACI marina has ever been or will be closed to the public. On the contrary, the idea is for ACI marina Rijeka to become the fabric of the city, as well as all facilities that will be intended for marina guests, as well as citizens and tourists who come to Rijeka.

A historic step forward for the entire tourist offer of the Republic of Croatia

Among other things, the conference discussed the further development of the quality of the offer, ie raising competitiveness by investing in hotel and accommodation capacities and investing in the ACI marina Rijeka. It was pointed out that the ACI marina Rijeka in the area of Porto Baroš will be the largest marina for superyachts on the Adriatic, and more than 360 million kuna will be invested in it. The investment will be realized by ACI-Gitone, founded by ACI and GITONE, part of the German Lürssen Group. We are looking forward to the start of work on this project, and we are even more looking forward to the day when we will open the ACI marina Rijeka in the company of the citizens of Rijeka and all other visitors, which will undoubtedly be the pride of the city and the local community.
